I asked the question in the first place because someone on sci.crypt had
been talking about UNIX compress and its significantly lower entropy of the
early bytes, even if the standard header is stripped. I can envision
someone adding a pre-compress to PEM's ENCRYPTED mode, for transmission
efficiency if nothing else, in which case this would become an issue.
