This memo defines a framework for interaction between MIME and PEM
services. MIME, an acronym for "Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions",
defines the format of the contents of Internet mail messages and provides
for multi-part textual and non-textual message bodies. PEM, an acronym for
"Privacy Enhanced Mail", provides message encryption and authentication
services for Internet mail messages.
