Bob, Matthew and I spoke on the phone yesterday and he now
understands that object classes do not yield subordinate directiory
entries in the fashion he thought. His suggestion was based on a
misunderstanding of the structure of the DIT and its relation to
object clases. I wouldn't base proposals to change how we do
resindetial users based on that misunderstanding.
From our phone conversation I felt it was clear that you
did not have the same view as I do on the relations of the directory.
I'm still not convinced that what I have said is wrong. I had intended
to rescarch the issue further and provide concrete evidence one way or
the other by quoting X.500 and other sources. At this time I do not
have any conclusive evidence either way. (primarly because I have not
had time to investigate it yet) At this point in time I still feel there
are potentially some serious misunderstandings of what is defined in
X.500-521.
