PKP, licensing, and all that ...

1994-09-19 19:20:00
I sent off another letter to PKP on 18 July 1994, requesting information
on licensing conditions and what-not. No reply as yet, and it hasn't
bounced back this time. Would someone who knows who to prod please pick
up a stick and do some prodding for me?

To recap, I'm (very slowly) writing a shareware PEM implementation for
Windows from scratch, and was seeking information about licensing
conditions for shareware programmers. The letter is available to anyone
who wants a copy.

Don't tell me to use RSAREF, because being an Australian I'm not allowed
see the source for it (if fact, I've gone out of my way to avoid fetching
a copy even though it is very easy to do). Unless RSADSI's Australian
subsidary has something with similar licensing conditions of course, but
I'm one of those people that just _hates_ using other people's code when
I am quite capable of writing my own version.

If this keeps up, I may be forced to go renegade. :-( When does the damn
thing expire anyway? Soon I hope. All this hassle for about 10-20 lines
of code!

Cheers,

Rhys.
