indeed. and since this work has been underway for an absurdly long time
(in my usual, humble view) and with many published iterations, I find it
odd that you believe it hasn't been in the open.
I suppose the test is whether there is a substantial consituency that
agrees with you. If so, then I hope that consituency will debate the
technical merits or lack thereof.
I honestly can't see any consensus developing before this point
is cleared away.
My own guess is that, at this point, the need is for establishing a
consensus to the contrary.
