My company doesn't market software, but I totally agree with these
sentiments. If PEM doesn't fit well with MIME, it's a non-issue here. We've
already implemented a number of production-quality, MIME-capable products
and I'm anxious for these vendors to incorporate PEM. When I talked with
one of these developers recently, I was told that they were getting more
pressure to support PGP. That ought not be. It seems the broad consensus is
in favor of the approach that has been taken in PEM/MIME. Let's not
continue revisiting old debates over and over. We need to discuss and
resolve the few remaining technical issues and then get this product out
the door.
