If the digest algorithm used is the same as is used for digital signatures, is the opportunity for non-interoperability really increased by digesting the public key also? I agree with Jeff with respect to encryption versus digital signature. To respond to your question directly, on the surface no. However, read my message to Jeff later and you will see that there are deeper issues. Jim
