(I will sidestep the policy issue since I'm not into policy,
but I will note that DMS appears to be a VERY expensive approach.)
Folks on the PEM mailing list might be interested to know that
the US Navy requires that all workstations delivered under
the recently awarded "TAC-4" workstation contract have PEM
(and MIME) included at no extra cost. While PEM with DES
is not suitable for providing MAC, it does provide strong
DAC and is useful to most Navy sites. I'm told that HP
won the TAC-4 contract, so this means that PEM does/will-soon
exist both for HPUX 10.x and for HP CMW 10.x.
This is not an endorsement of any vendor's product.
