Loral Federal Systems, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $499,600,000
face value increase to a firmed-fixed-price, Indefinite Quantity,
Indefinite Delivery contract for the Defense Message System-Government
Open System Interconnection Profile (DMS-GOSIP) which will provide
electronic messaging products and services for the Department of Defense
and other federal agencies. The work will be performed at Fairfax,
Virginia. Contract is expected to be completed May 1997. Contract funds of
40 million will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Two hundred
one bids were solicited and four proposals were received. The solicitation
was issued in March 1994 and negotiations were completed in January 1995.
The Standard Systems Center (AFMC), Maxwell Air Force Base, Gunter Annex,
Alabama, is the contracting activity (F01620-95-D-0001).
