You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. However, there is
more than 20 years of experience that says that email-based open (Internet)
systems need to attend to the reality of the global service. This means
that it is essential to make adjustments for common difficulties, such as
is being done here.
The philosophy and most of the details of the current spec have
been around and discussed and agreed to for at least a year. There is
nothing new in the nature of the concerns you have raised. There is strong
and general consensus about the approach being taken.
