Is there a proscribed behaviour for handling a new multipart construct ?
What do current MIME implementations do in this situation ?


As I remember, the RFC states that unknown multiparts should be treated as
multipart/mixed, specifically to allow MUAs (and thus users) to present the
interior body parts they *can* handle.  Our MIME software does precisely this.
