Greetings. At the IETF meeting in San Jose last week, two BOFs that relate
to Internet mail security had their first meetings. There was a significant
overlap in the attendance of the two BOFs. The two BOFs are discussing
different Internet mail security protocols (S/MIME and PGP/MIME), but many
developers are clearly interested in both protocols. The Internet Mail
Consortium (IMC) volunteered to sponsor mailing lists for each BOF. Both
BOFs will both hopefully become full IETF Working Groups.
People interested in developing the S/MIME protocol within the IETF will be
interested in "ietf-smime(_at_)imc(_dot_)org". To subscribe, send email to:
ietf-smime-request(_at_)imc(_dot_)org
with the single word
subscribe
in the body of the message.
People interested in developing the PGP/MIME protocol within the IETF will
be interested in "ietf-pgp-mime(_at_)imc(_dot_)org". To subscribe, send email
to:
ietf-pgp-mime-request(_at_)imc(_dot_)org
with the single word
subscribe
in the body of the message.
The archives and related documents for each BOF are available through the
Web at <http://www.imc.org/ietf-smime/> and
<http://www.imc.org/ietf-pgp-mime/>, respectively.
