The problem most likely is that this version of sendmail apparently cannot
mail to programs if the mail has been queued first. What causes the
mail to be queued in the first place, you ask? Probably high loads.
The solution would be to either:
- Get a patch from HP.
- Make sure that sendmail never queues due to high loads.
- Install sendmail 8.7.x (highly recommended, for lots of other reasons
as well).
