removal of > from >From

Does the following construct in a .procmailrc file:

:0:
* ^from:.*myfriend
myfriend

automatically change any:

        >From ...

to

        From ...

I moved things a tab stop right so as to not confuse anyone's mailers.

It seems that this is true. Am I right?
