A while ago, I asked how it was possible to preserve the original "From:"
line
when forwarding mail. Two replies proved very helpful here, BUT neither
actually
worked!
Seperating out the "From:" line using FROM=`formail -rt -xTo:` works
wonderfully
as does the replacement of the old "To" using the following:
$FORMAIL -i "To: Peter(_dot_)Morrison(_at_)australia(_dot_)ncr(_dot_)com"
However, when I pipe all this to sendmail ( | $SENDMAIL -oi -t)
sendmail happily **IGNORES ME** and puts in its own From: line.
Is it something to do with not having root permission while calling
sendmail?
Regards,
Peter Morrison.
