Running Mailing List from an Account

1996-10-05 12:28:49

Hello All,

I have a question. Is it possible, using procmail/smartlist, to run
mailing list from within an account? Here is the scenario:

I have a virtual domain called xxx.yyy.com which an ISP is doing MX
fowarding for me such that mail sent to "aaa(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com" or
"bbb(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com" or "ccc(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com" get
forwarded to one single
physical account (realuser(_at_)ISP(_dot_)domain) at the ISP. The
realuser(_at_)ISP(_dot_)domain
account would have a .forward which calls procmail/smartlist to process
the incoming mail and if any of the addresses
"aaa(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com", or
"bbb(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com", or "ccc(_at_)xxx(_dot_)yyy(_dot_)com" is a
mailing list, the incoming
mail should be distributed to the list appropriately.

Is this possible? If so, can someone give me pointers on the best way
to do this? Bear in mind that I plan to install procmail/smartlist in the
home directory of my account at the ISP.

Much appreciation for any help I can get.

Thanks,

/basie
