I am asked to set up an email forwarded for an institute and I am
considering the possible problems. This utility will be used by 500-600
people and the only thing it will do is just forward the incoming mail to
another email address in some other ISP.
Has anyone tried something like this? How does someone stops mail bombing
(or mailing list type bombing) in such a system? How do I set up a 'user
does not exist' type of message that will be understood by mailing lists in
case of a mail bombing? What will the performance impact be on the system,
if it's used by 500-600 people? What other things I should take care of?
And a last one: how can I insert a line in the body end (such as the url
for instructions) of each incoming email?
Any suggestions are welcome.
