Just a warning, everyone: you probably DO NOT want to modify your rules to
reject (290. etc. as well as [290. etc. I did that based on the earlier
discussion without thinking about it too much, and it turns out that a
simple substitution of \( for \[ in the recipes will also match

which is a perfectly valid thing to have in a header.
