I have been running majordomo on my home machine for quite a while to
support a list of parents and teachers at my daughter's high school. I
would like very much to move the list to the group's shell account at
their ISP. The ISP has procmail running. The list is fed from only one
address where the messages are numbered and dressed up for retransmitting.
Isn't there a simple way for procmail to handle this list? It seems the
sender could put something in the subject line indicating it was intended
for the list, then send it to the shell account. Procmail would see the
item in the subject line (or perhaps recognize the sender) and reply to
all of the names in a file. Is this too far-fetched?
If it seems that I am totally ignorant of procmail, that is true. The few
.procmailrc I have examined made no sense to me, so I appeal to you folks
for a recipe. Thank you all.
