mailing list server

Hi,

Is there an alternative for Smartlist (it's too cumbersome to use)? 
I especially wonder if there is a basic procmail script for handling 
a mailinglist for less than 50 users, or do I need a c-compiled 
program to handle this size of a mailing list. I may be way off in my 
speculations...
