I also meant to ask how to test a $FROM for special characters.

I know I can use formail to add a header, and then test the new header for
characters that don't belong in e-mail addresses, but is there an eaier
way?

An example from my logs:

llk`jaflasdjfs[aj(_at_)l;fjsdljfasd.com

Looks like this spammer created an address by pounding on his keyboard
just like a chimp would.  I think a chimp should be insulted...
