Mailing List Issues

Fellow Procmailers:
I have an interesting problem. My ISP will not allow Majordomo or
Listserv for normal customers, so I have installed a small procmail script
that simply re-sends mails that come from a certain host to all the
addresses in a file. A very simple task, and one that is going quite well.
However, the natives are restless, and they want me to attempt the
following improvements. I will promise to study hard, and stick around
long enough to give it back if some of you will help me add these
features:

1). Messages handled by the list should be numbered sequentially
as they are processed. Number should be added at the
beginning of the Subject: line .
2). Posting should be limited to members of the list.
3). The body and header of each message should be exported to a
file in a certain directory (owned by the list owner), and
the file should be named with the number from 1)., above.

I think Smartlist will do all of the above, plus handle
subscribe/unsubscribe requests, etc., but in reading the doc's for
Smartlist I think I see that you have have unpack the sources alongside
the procmail sources and compile it. I don't have rights in those
directories on the ISP, so that is not possible.

In honesty I know very little about the syntax procmail uses, but I have
been able to follow many of the scripts you folks have shared here. I will
greatly appreciate any assistance you can give.Perhaps private mail would
be a good place to do this, but that is up to you. If you think I could
get away with compiling a seperate procmail and Smartlist on the ISP and
running it, that would be fine...there is plenty of room there for the
sources.
