To whom it may concern,
I have a mail folder that is keeping copies of mail that should be
forwarded without copying. When I check the msgid.cache file, there
appear to be some missing dates. That is, when procmail writes id
numbers to the file-then reaches the end, it starts over at the top. The
problem is - between the top and the bottom there appear to be a few
dates (days) missing.
For example, the list below should show (if I understand it
correctly) is a list that wraps around. The list is sequential,
top-to-bottom, with the numbers at the very bottom continuing at the very
top. Unfortunately I am missing a few dates between the top and bottom,
in this case 19981218 and 19981219. I believe this is related to my mail
being copied when it should be forwarded.
What I see (in order of dates only) in msgid.cache is this:
19971220
19971220
19971211
19971212
19971213
19971214
19971215
19971216
19971217
I start .procmailrc out with the following two lines:
: 0 Wh: msgid.lock
| formail -D 32768 msgid.cache
The last recipe is ended with a ":" not a ":c" as the others. Is
there something else I may have overlooked?
If anyone has any ideas as to what I am doing wrong, please let me
know. I am sure it is something simple (it usually is) but for the
moment I do not see it. I thought I had this copy problem nailed before,
and aside from this procmail is working fabulously. Please send any
advice or recommendations you may have.
Sincerely,
-Andy
