Disk Quota Exceeded

1998-05-13 23:33:02

I saw some mention before of Disk Quota Checking and after
reviewing it and attempting to implement the partial recipes, I failed!

I have several users who constantly exceed their given 6Mb quota
(with email alone!). I would like to setup a recipe each users dir that
would check the Disk Usage against their quota and if the incoming email
will cause the quota to be exceeded, reject it, sending it back to the
original sender. Also sending a message back to the sender (or appending
to top to the original email) the reason why it was rejected.

I need this simply because the exceeded disk quota is causing them
to be "locked out" of their email, making more work for myself to correct
the problem until.

I have looked elsewhere, but -Everyone- (even the local guru, says
"The only way is to set up a different mail partition or seperate mail
server" or "Increase the Quota!". Well, due to either stubborness and lack
of funds, I don't choose to do either of those suggestions.

Any detailed help on this would be greatly appreaciated, and would
save me alot of time. Unfortunately I could not find detailed information
in the procmail archives to help me.

Thanks again to those of you who assist me.
