I now know how to sort mail as it comes in, but actually want to do most
processing offline.
ONLINE: (automatic)
Stage 1: All PGP-encrypted mail to a particular inbound folder, to
be decrypted when offline
Stage 2: All plaintext "trusted" (simply as in, "I know it's for me
personally" mail (mailing lists, certain subjects, people I actually
know), to another inbound folder
Stage 3: Everything else to a "probablySPAM" folder
OFFLINE: (when called for)
Stage 1: Decrypt any PGP stuff
Stage 2: File trusted mail in folders
Is this easy?
Bear in mind I'm new to all this (and am *still wondering* why formail
won't tidy my mail by date when I use the "experiments.rc" with a recipe
saying:
:0:
* ^Date:.*Aug
foo_Aug_1998
(and so on for other months)
and use
formail -ns procmail experiments.rc < foo
Since grep sees "^Date:.*Aug" in foo perfectly well, am at a complete
loss, especially as I thought the regex was simple enough that even I
couldn't ruin it...)
