I'd like a way to have procmail process alert messages but it it gets the
same alert every 15 minutes, only notify me on the first alert....maybe even
the first one every day or something like that but not once every 15
minutes. Any ideas? I have a similar process (service monitoring) running
under DOS and it uses various date strings stuffed into the environment and
creates a trigger file for each successive alert, tests to see if an alert
has been sent out this (day, hour, half-day, etc.). I guess probably the
best way to handle this would be to have procmail launch a shell script
(perl script?) when certain alerts were received.
I think I can work my way through this but if somebody has something running
that I can start with, that would be a big help.
