I am on a mailing list whose listserver has just changed something in its
standard headres so that after a message gets through (this was OK before
they changed it on the sending end)
the envelope From line (the one without the colon) has the
owner-listname(_at_)site(_dot_)domain(_dot_)

Sounds good so far: the envelope sender is the list's owner address,
thereby keeping bounce/error messages from going to people who can't
do anything about the problem.

I have noticed that the real sender's name and e-mail address are visible
in "Reply-To:" and the "From:" usually has the sender's "real" name in
quotes followed by the owner-list(_at_)site(_dot_)domain

The From: header setup is slightly odd, but it sounds like a good
setup: bounces go the correct place, replies go to the sender of the
message, and the From: header shows a reasonable version of the source
of that particular message. If the To: header has the list address
then I would say that this setup is just fine.

Is there a way to get formail (or something else) to "fix" this bogus setup?

In order for us to help you 'fix' this setup, you'll first need to
explain how it is broken, and then what you would consider 'fixed'. To
phrase that a different way, what property makes you call that setup
broken, such that changing the property would make you call it fixed?
