although procmail support for locales could get messy (it should, for

Actually, I am accepted suggestions for enhancements -- check out
http://www.procmail.org/todo.html
I've added this one to the list, though I'll note that just because
something is on the list doesn't guarantee that I won't later decide
it's a bad idea or better left to other means. Even if it is a good
idea, I would not suggest holding your breath for it.
