using procmail.rc for controling disk space

1999-06-04 13:10:37
Hi, i am wondering if it could be posible to use procmail to control if
"email" could be written to the user's mailbox based on the actual size of
the mailbox.
I am thinking on building a procmail.rc file that will first of all call a
shell script wich will check if the user's mailbox is below or over a
predefined size.
If the file is below the size, then new mail should be accepted, else the
new mail should be bounced back with a message about the user having too
much unread messages on his mailbox.

Do you think this is posible ? (please dont recomend using quotas, thats is
a no-no because of our actual system setup).

i dont have experience with the procmail sintax, could you send me a
prototype of what the .rc file might look like.
Thanks in advance...
