character conversions

I've got some email that comes through with some strange characters
that my mailreader cannot display.

Ò       (I think it's called a ``small O, grave accent'' going by the html spec)

Is there a way to convert that to something else, or delete it entirely?

I think it should be displaying as either a copyright or trademark or something like that....
