Hi-
I just switched my server
from an ss5 running Solaris 2.5, sendmail.com's 8.9.3
and procmail 3.11 defined as the local mailer in sendmail.cf.
to a u5 running Solaris 7, Sun's sendmail 8.9.1
and procmail 3.14 *not* defined as the local mailer.
In /var/adm/messages, I now get:
Jan 23 18:59:08 geosci procmail[12094]: Suspicious rcfile
"/home/dave/.procmailrc"
Has something changed with the .forward file? I used:
"|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/local/bin/procmail -f- || exit 75 #dave"
and *all* mail to me bounced yesterday morning.
The procmail man page says to use:
"|exec /usr/local/bin.sun4/procmail"
and I've seen many various alternatives listed on web pages.
What's the answer?
Also, yesterday, one of my lists received a porn post from
nottynina(_at_)hotmail(_dot_)com(_dot_) I once tried to use SmartList (3.11)
to prevent such posts but not very successfully. Any ideas
on the best way to prevent such spam from reaching a local
sendmail mailing list?
Thanks.
Dave Robbins
