problems with using procmail for local delivery between users with multiple virtual hosts

2000-02-08 10:49:59
Hello everyone. I apologize if this is a sendmail issue but
I can't seem to trace what is causing my problem. Neither
sendmail or procmail are giving any debugging information.
Mail just seems to be going ???????

I have two virtual hosting accounts on my Linux box, paulk
and paul. I'm trying to forward mail for several aliases on
one account to another on the on the same machine. Here is
the paulk account with the domains:

paulk ~ >more .procmailrc
(3) ~/.procmailrc
VERBOSE=yes
MAILDIR=$HOME/.procmail
DEFAULT=/$HOME/.mail
LOGFILE=$MAILDIR/log
#INCLUDERC=$MAILDIR/spam.rc
#INCLUDERC=$MAILDIR/users.rc
INCLUDERC=$MAILDIR/morehits.rc
#INCLUDERC=$MAILDIR/response.rc
#INCLUDERC=$MAILDIR/default.rc
# end of .procmailrc

paulk ~/.procmail >more morehits.rc

  :0
  * ^To:.*webmaster
  !paul

  :0
  * ^To:.*info
  !paul

 :0
  !paul(_at_)vega(_dot_)wwia(_dot_)net

Here is the log file after mail right after mail is lost:

paulk ~/.procmail >tail log
procmail: No match on "^To:.*admin"
procmail: No match on "^To:.*sales"
procmail: No match on "^To:.*webmaster"
procmail: No match on "^To:.*info"
procmail: Assigning "LASTFOLDER=/usr/sbin/sendmail
@vega.wwia.net"
procmail: Executing "/usr/sbin/sendmail,@vega.wwia.net"

Subject: dum da dum dum
Folder: /usr/sbin/sendmail @vega.wwia.net
685
procmail: Notified comsat: "paulk@:/usr/sbin/sendmail
@vega.wwia.net"

In a typical case, mail arrives for info(_at_)pagecop(_dot_)com in
paulk account and is caught by the last part of the recipe.
Sendmail is called up but the mail never makes it to the
paul account, but local delivery as far as mail from users
that are logged on is working. Is there some way to get
procmail to do the delivery other than just specifying that
it is the local mailer in the sendmail configuration ?

Is there something besides /var/log/mail that would help me
find the problem?

I'm sure it's obvious but I have yet to find the thread or
page to help me solve my problem. Your patience is
appreciated.

Paul Kunicki
