Pardon my "newbieness" concerning these subjects.
I recently tried using procmail to filter spam with great success,
however when I "turn on" the filter (by activating the .forward file)
all mail comes to me sans domain extensions in the To: and CC: address
headers, therfore not allowing me to reply-all. My filters are designed
to pass on only my lists
e.g.:
# :0:
# * ^TO_listaddress
# ${DEFAULT}
and emails addressed to me
e.g.:
# :0:
# * ! ^TO_myuserid
# Spam.mail
It would be of interest to note that when building the filter files,
they didn't work when I had the @mydom.dom part in the addresses but did
once I only included myuserid. When I disable forwarding my emails (and
addresses) arrive intact. Is this a sendmail config problem? Could
sendmail be dropping the domain, and why? One thought I've had is that
procmail is sending my email to a local program, i.e. procmail, for
filtering.
FYI, my forward file includes the following:
"|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/local/bin/procmail -f- || exit 75 #myuserid"
When this is active and email to me has this in the header: To: crnugent
When I comment this out it has this To:<crnugent(_at_)tamu(_dot_)edu>
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
CRN
