More on /etc/procmailrc vs ~/.procmailrc

Hi.

My setup is like this:

- qmail as a base
- vpopmail for virtual domains
- Hopefully procmail for mail filtering and some spam control

The situation:

I want to be able to give the virtual users the possibility to have their own
recipes and killfiles, but having a global filtering being done before.

The problem:

vpopmail runs all under a single uid/gid, so there's no $HOME. The
.qmail-someuser file that spawns procmail is on the domain directory, so i
can call procmail. But how can i call procmail if i can't just put
"MAILDIR=$HOME/Maildir/" as the variable $HOME doesn't exist? i don't want to
replicate the whole ruleset for each user, as the bulk of it is kinda global
(mainly the spambouncer ruleset), and the user-configurable part would be
very small (typically a killfile)?

Ideas? or am i forced to have the file replicated everywhere with some small
path changes for that?
