Hello,
procmail works fine when I sen a message from my account to myself, then it
is invoked, the logfile is updated and it does what it should.
But if the mail is sent from outside or even from another user on the same
machine, it's not invoked, the logfile is not changed, and the mail goes to
the standard mailbox.
Yes, the .forward file is world readable (-rw-r--r--), I also tried it with
my home directory being world readable and the x bit set (drwxr-xr-x).
The sys admin said: "Procmail is installed, but isn't supported, and it's a
security risk to mail to programs, maybe the settings are so that it's not
allows." He did't seem to know it exactly.
We have a dce system, I don't know if this matters.
Does anyone have an idea what's wrong and if I can get it working. Is
allowing sendmail to mail programs really a security risk, and if: it should
be only my risk, because it would be a procmail with my permissions only,
wouldn't it?
