I am wanting to filter system wide using /etc/procmailrc certain emails
based on subject. I have a spare system to test this on first to make sure I
have this setup properly when testing.
I have looked all over the place and so far have not found a complete
example of a basic /etc/procmailrc file yet. I have seen many messages about
locking the file and unlocking issues, etc... Can someone give me a basic
example of what needs to be in this file for proper processing?
Here is my setup.
Redhat 7.x Sendmail 8.11
Users mail is stored default in /var/spool/mail/username
Some examples of what I want to filter for are subjects like
Adv: Save a lot of money on inkjet and laser printer refills!
<> We've spent the last 2 yrs -- Thinking About YOUR LOVE LIFE
5.4 Cents Long Distance, 24 hrs/day, No Fees!
I want for the initial phase to copy any message that contains the above
text to
go to a folder /var/spool/mail/spam
Otherwise if it passes to go directly to the users mailbox.
I would imagine that once I have an example that I would be able to
implement filters
based on Header content, Body etc...
Appreciate anyones help in advance.
Jim
