Greetings, I'm using qmail with procmail for local delivery. I've done
this a number of times and never run into this problem, so I'm a bit
stumped. Here's the messages:
Mar 7 00:16:31 seraphim qmail: 1015488991.684204 delivery 4: deferral:
procmail:_Couldn't_create_"/var/spool/mail/spuds"/procmail:
_Lock_failure_on_"/var/spool/mail/spuds.lock"/procmail:
_Error_while_writing_to_"/var/spool/mail/spuds"/
I've checked permissions on folders, group and passwd files settings, and
everything I can think of between two machines - one that does and one
that doesn't work. I can't fathom the problem.
This is what I've found to be the situation though I'm not sure why. It
only happens on the machine above - every other installation I've done
does not have this problem:
Mail file /var/spool/mail/USER exists, no problems with delivery.
Mail file /var/spool/mail/USER doesn't exist, failure with above error.
