Problem with very long OR recipe.

2002-03-15 11:03:11
Trying to fight spam by building up a list of likely subjects lines, as
well as using the normal rules for looking at the contents of the message
body.

This works -

:0:
* ^Subject:.*Web site visitors for you*
spam

:0:
* ^Subject:.*help pay your mortgage*
spam

:0:
* ^Subject:.*Market Your Business*
spam

but it's not nice, no I tried to switch to an OR based recipe -

:0:
  ^Subject:.*HIGH YIELD*|\
  ^Subject:.*Boost your cell phone reception*|\
  ^Subject:.*Protect Your Privacy*|\
  ^Subject:.*Amazing Daily Pics*|\
  ^Subject:.*to financial freedom*|\
  ^Subject:.*Foreign Currency Trading Report*|\
  ^Subject:.*Mortgage rates as low as*|\
  ^Subject:.*Corporate Money Lenders*
spam

This also works.

But when I have several entries in the recipe, ie a few hundred subject
lines, it fails. Mail neither goes to the spam mail box, or to my inbox.

Can anyone advise what might be the problem, from the list archives I
understand there no limit on the length of a recipe.

Yours,

Frank.
