Newbie needs Recipe Help

2002-11-26 12:53:47
I am new to Procmail, and trying to create a recipe to help a user with
a problem.

He has a non-RFC compliant rule on his work mail system (xyz.com) that
will bounce mail if the sender claims it's from xyz.com, when it's
actually not from an internal xyz.com server.

He has an extranet service that sends messages directly to him, as well
as generates reports (with his name/email in the From: field.)

I have set up a user account on my Sendmail/Procmail system that we
would like to use as a workaround by doing the following:

Mailbox name on local system: recipient(_at_)zyx(_dot_)com
Mailbox name on non-RFC compliant system: user(_at_)xyz(_dot_)com

If the message header is From:user(_at_)xyz(_dot_)com rewrite the header so
From:recipient(_at_)zyx(_dot_)com, then forward to user(_at_)xyz(_dot_)com

Any message that is not From:user(_at_)xyz(_dot_)com should be forwarded to
user(_at_)xyz(_dot_)com unmodified.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mike Jones
