sbirl: David: Birl, did you ever look into the possibility that procmail was
compiled
sbirl: David: with the "safe" (aka BOfH) setting to restrict execution?
sbirl:
sbirl:
sbirl: Well considering I compiled it by hand a while back, it is possible ....
sbirl: And apparently, I didnt tinkered with the config.h file; no backup file.
sbirl: (I backup files I tinker with)
sbirl:
sbirl:
sbirl: I see the line
sbirl: #define RESTRICT_EXEC 100 /* uncomment to prevent users with uids
equal or higher than RESTRICT_EXEC from ....
sbirl:
sbirl: and my UID is 100. So it makes perfect sense.
Two things:
1) I *DID* tinker with config.h before! I found a config.h.orig for the
original file.
I diff'ed config.h.orig & config.h and found that I had uncommented
that RESTRICT_EXEC line.
2) I re-commented that line, did a 'make' and 'make install' and
'make install-suid' Tested the filter and
*wallah peanut butter and jelly sandwiches* it worked.
Thanks to all who helped me.
