You do not need the backslash in the From: ...
It is not a matter of neccessity. The backslash belongs there,
and without it the regex has a different meaning, which can
result in behaviour that is totally different to what you
might expect.
The quality of the regex with the backslash is higher than without.
Still there are things missing, because it also matches
From: anything+domainX(_dot_)com(_at_)other-domain
The version without the backslash would also match
From: domain(_at_)com(_dot_)tld
