Your problem is the exact opposite of that.
To identify the first NON-local Received header.
Which is what the code I provided does.
In all cases.
in a chaine of several Received: from header fields
this rules will MATCH on any Received: from
so far i understood
* * $ ^Received:.*\/[^$WS].*
is always a MATCH for the top most header
my question was a bit stupid, i shoud read
more in the archiv and in the manpages
then thinking in $VAR :)
