I have sendmail+procmail in my server, and I'm investigating some
centralized user repository (ldap)...
I'd like to maintain sendmail+procmail, but without local users... my
pop server can obtain the auth info from an ldap server, so that part is
no problem.
But I'm guessing if sendmail and/or procmail could allow mail delivering
without local users (passwd or pam, I'd prefer not to use pam+ldap,
though I know this is probably the best fit)... that is, procmail
writing all mails as "mail user" to the correct places... obtaining this
data from the sendmail command line passed variables (???), or from ldap
(???) ...
I haven't found any info about this, so any hint will be appreciated.
(Also, I think I should not rewrite any ~/.forward, as they actually
contain forward info... )
