Hi,
I'm currently using maildrop along with qmail. However, I've to do some
processing on all incoming mails that are delivered to the user's
maildir formatted mailbox. This is described below.
The approach requires me to know the name of the file that the delivery
agent has just delivered.
e.g. if a new mail comes in, qmail hands it over to the MDA and after
the MDA completes the delivery (moves the mail to "new"), I should be in
a position to know the filename which the MDA just delivered. I could
use this filename, then to do the processing that I want.
Using maildrop,I do not think it is possible, except after modifying
the code (or is it?).
I've got an idea that FAM could be used to fulfill this request but
that seems to be a very heavy, un-scalable, burden on the system.
I wanted to ask people here whether they have had this experience
before and whether this is possible using procmail. If it is, then
procmail could be a life saver.
Please could anyone of you help me out with this? Any pointer to help
will be greatly appreciated.
Anticipating a resolving reply,
Thanks,
