Why not simpel install the courier suite?
It is configured by default for security!
Specialy if you are using Debian GNU/Linux you do a simpel
apt-get install courier-mta-ssl courier-imap-ssl
and seting up 7 files whit a singel value and you are done.
The Courier-Suite is Idiot-Poofed!
