1. Is there anyway to simply execute a program that has nothing to do with
the mail? For example, after a mail comes in, it is sent to my MAILDIR. Can
I execute another program that takes that mail as arguments in the
commandline.
2. Can I run system/shell commands in .procmailrc.. like "rm" or "cp", etc
3. Just to confirm.. We CANNOT execute PHP scripts in procmail.. can we? If
we can, whats an example recipe?
4. I am writing a perl script.. What EXACTLY is supposed to go in there to
take the mail in? I know that it reads it through standard input.. But I'm
new to perl and I dont know how it does that... (I really dont want to read
the mail at all.. I just want to execute some commands that have nothing to
do with the mail directly.. but I keep getting the error: 'Error writing to
/path/to/perl.pl'
The above four questions are independant if each other.. even if ONE of the
questions are answered, I will be soo much closer to achieving my goal.
Please help.. Thank you in advance,
Chirag
