i think it would be good to have both, so we can have maximum
flexibility in that domain.

But should the straight domain name query then not be
"exists:%{p}.wl.trusted-forwarder.org"? I mean, what is the point of
querying {d} in that case? What you want, methinks, is {p} = "SMTP client
domain name". So that, on my server, if the connecting IP address is
66.135.197.13, an SPF query will also go out to:
"mxpool07.ebay.com.wl.trusted-forwarder.org", and not to
"asarian-host.net.wl.trusted-forwarder.org".
