SPF and mailing lists: a broken implementation?

2004-12-14 05:37:35
This SPF log entry is interesting:

14-Dec-2004 11:54:42.761 queries: client 207.106.84.147#55858: query:
204(_dot_)152(_dot_)190(_dot_)11(_dot_)_(_dot_)deprecated(_dot_)_(_dot_)stephane\(_at_)sources(_dot_)org(_dot_)_(_dot_)unknown(_dot_)spf-tracker(_dot_)generic-nic(_dot_)net
 IN A -

sources.org is my vanity domain. I write to NetBSD mailing lists with
that address and 204.152.190.11 is an ISC machine which hosts
mail.netbsd.org. Apparently, 204.152.190.11 tries to send an email
with a SMTP MAIL FROM of myself.

Is it possible that NetBSD uses a broken mailing list software which
uses MY address as the MAIL FROM?

ISC and NetBSD are clueful about Internet email so I doubt it but I
have no other idea.
