I want to control the number of newlines output in text mode.
XSL never inserts newlines on its own in text output mode, so any
newlines that appear are specified explictly in the stylesheet or copied
from the source. What other control do you need? If you have tried
something and it did not give the answer you expected then you'll need
to give more information about what you tried and what you expected.
