Sorry, that was a mistake on my part. You don't want it to completely ignore
non-matching nodes, you just want it to apply-templates to its children
(therefore not copying the node and "ignoring" it).
<xsl:template match="node()">
<xsl:apply-templates/>
</xsl:template>
